Thank you so much for your prayers and words of encouragement as we wait on help for our son, Nathan. We finally heard from the EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) at LeBonheur and the earliest date they can assure us entry is on the week of November 7. However, Nathan’s doctor will be working the EMU the week of October 3rd, but at this point, the unit is already filled.
We were told that there is a possibility that someone scheduled for Oct. 3rd could need to reschedule. If that’s the case, Nathan will be admitted then. We were also told that if there was a “no show” on Oct 3rd, they would call us early that morning, and we needed to be ready to come immediately. Otherwise, we will wait until November 7th.
So… my plan is to be prepared for Oct. 3rd – packing lists made, supplies gathered, the week’s school assignments and books ready, and then wait on the Lord to either send us, or not to send us.
As much as I would LOVE to be there this or next week – just so we can have some answers more quickly, I also am 100% confident that The Lord is in charge of the timing of this hospital stay and everything surrounding it. Period. In my quiet time just this morning I was reading about the fact that NO ONE can thwart God’s plans. Man’s plans will be changed. But God’s will NOT (Isaiah 14:24 & 27).
We will wait, and prepare, and trust… much like I remember doing when I was expecting both of the children. God’s timing was perfect back then, and it remains perfect today.
Selfishly, I’d like to ask that you pray with me for a door to open for the Oct. 3rd week for us… but in reality, I’m going to ask that you pray that God continues to have His hand on this situation, and that He will send us in His perfect timing – and that we’ll be ready for whenever it is.
Thank you so much, my friends. I was thinking about how many times I’ve had to come to you and ask for prayer, and you have been faithful every time. It has been a privilege to pray for many of you and the specific needs that have hit your life since we’ve known each other through blogging… Its a beautiful picture of the body of Christ ~ surrounding each other at our greatest points of need. I truly do love you, and thank God for your presence in my life.
God’s timing is perfect. We can trust Him. His ways are right. He knows the future. Let’s let Him be GOD, and just simply obey Him today. 🙂
PS: The chili was delicious last night. And we ate it – even though we had the air conditioner running full blast! 😉 It wasn’t as “fall feeling” as I was hoping for – but the food was yummy! Tonight: Chili Pie with the leftovers.
