I’ve been thinking about the energy zappers some of you shared, and was reminded of this post from last spring. Do you ever feel like this lady? {except without the smile?} It seems like much of the work that many of us do gets undone just about as quickly. If we’re not careful, we can become discouraged in drudgery and feel sorry for ourselves.
Do you feel like what you do is insignificant?
Read Oswald Chamber’s God-inspired words from My Utmost For His Highest, March 6
“…in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,” 2 Cor. 6:4
Ask God to keep the eyes of your spirit open to the Risen Christ, and it will be impossible for drudgery to damp you…
My friends, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 NIV
And as the Message puts it: “So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.” Galatians 6:9-10, Message
If you are doing what God has called you to do – in your home, private life, or in public, whatever it is, if you are doing it “as unto the Lord instead of man” (Ephesians 6:10), it is a big thing. You and your work are not insignificant.
Ask God to show up in your daily-ness, to strengthen you to do what He has set before you to do, and as our dear friend, Oswald Chambers says, “Ask God to keep the eyes of your spirit open to the Risen Christ, and it will be impossible for drudgery to damp you.”
Have a wonderful weekend, my friends.
