An encouraging word if you think God isn’t paying attention to your plight

I have just a minute, but had to hop on here and share this reminder from my Quiet Time study this morning.  I’ve been in Esther this week and was struck anew by the chapters I studied today.  If ever a question arises about God’s watch-care over His people and His providence over all circumstances, the chapters of Esther 6 and Esther 7 should be a true encouragement!

In Esther 6-7 we see played out before us what many would consider “coincidence” – but those of us who have placed our trust in the One True God know that there isn’t any such thing as “coincidence.”  In fact, as one author says, “Coincidence is simply when God chooses to remain anonymous.”

Mordecai did a heroic deed and saved the king’s life.  But the king never noticed or paid attention.  No one did.  And Mordecai’s life continued as if he had done nothing unusual.  No thanks.  No appreciation.  No accolades.   Just continued day-in-day-out faithful and humble service to the king.

But Someone was paying attention.  Someone was very much noticing every detail, action, thought, and intent of the heart.  The Real King.  The King of Kings.

There was a period of silence and threat, concern and mourning, prayer and fasting… but all along, the King was working behind the scenes, orchestrating the protection of the people called by His name.

The chapters aren’t long, but they are jam-packed with encouraging reminders that God never forgets His faithful servants.

“What the unbeliever sees as a series of amazing coincidences, the believer must recognize as the hand of God’s providence.  It was God who troubled the king’s sleep, and God who had the servant read of Mordecai’s help.  Most of all, we see God working in the timing of Haman’s arrival.  Coincidence is simply when God chooses to remain anonymous.”  (from Life Principals from Women of the Bible, book 1)

God sees, my friends.  He hears.  He knows.  And He is working.  And in HIS PERFECT TIMING AND WAYS, He. Will. Act.

He has not forgotten you.  No matter how it might feel as if He has.  So, like Mordecai, “let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.“  Gal. 6:9, AMP

Many blessings of our Faithful Lord be upon each one of you.  If you’re thinking this post was written just for you… it was.  Because remember, there are no coincidences with God.
