… And I’m not talking about the Disney kind… (Sorry, Cinderella!)
I’m talking about every girl and woman God ever created. If He is our Daddy, and since He is The King, then we, my sisters, are His princesses. It’s true!
You may look around and not feel very “princess-like” right now… But how you feel doesn’t negate the truth that to the King of Kings, YOU are His princess… YOU are beautiful to Him, and He loves YOU very much!
Whether you are or are not feeling very “princess-ish” right now, I wanted to share this an incredible book with you. His Princess~ Love Letters from Your King by Sheri Rose Shepherd.
My daughter and I read one letter each night. And it speaks to both of our hearts – even though there is a 30 year age difference between us. (I don’t ever want to out-grow being His Princess!) Several nights ago, a letter was a particular blessing to me, and I think it will be to some of you dear Princess readers who are waiting on God to do some miraculous works in and around your lives this year. It read:
“My Princess, I can do Anything…
I know how hard it is for you to believe that My power is for you personally. The only thing stopping you from seeing My mighty hand at work in your life is you, My love. Remember, I placed within you the same power that I used to raise My Son, Jesus, from the dead. Don’t let past disappointments or fears keep you from asking what you need and believing that My timing is perfect. Keep seeking Me with all your heart and continue to obey all that I say while you wait on Me. Know that I will always keep My word and fulfill My promises. Even when the world lets you down, I will lift you up again. I will be true to you until the end of time and beyond.
Love,
Your True King
“The Lord answered, ‘I can do anything! Watch and you’ll see My words come true.'” Numbers 11:23, CEV
Grown-up Princesses, God is up to something wonderful in every one of our lives! Some of us are in a season of rest, and some of us are walking up steep and rocky mountains. And all of us are loved and desired by the King.
As a daughter of the King, the question is not “Do I feel like a princess?”. The real question is, “Will I accept my position as His Princess, and the priviliges of the relationship that accompanies that position?” If so, we will delight in Him as He is delighting in us, and He will be our joy – even in the midst of the most trying of circumstances.
“My beloved speaks and says to me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away… [So I went with him, and when we were climbing the rocky steps up the hillside, my beloved shepherd said to me] O my dove, [while you are here] in the seclusion of the clefts in the solid rock, in the sheltered and secret place of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.” Song of Solomon 2:10 & 14 (Amplified)
Sometimes it’s good to be reminded that we don’t outgrow the blessings of being His princess. I pray that He will pour His love over you today, and crown you with His beauty, and that you will radiate with the glory of the Lord upon you as you embrace your “princess-ness”! 🙂
PS: I got this book at Lifeway Christian Bookstore on the $5 shelf. You might still be able to get it there for that price.

Jenny Phillips has an awesome song called: Daughter of a King. Fits your post really well. … Daughter of a King, a Father’s royalty, heir to his divinity. He’s calling out your name, to come and take your place, before his throne, he has always known, what he created you to be…. Daughter of King.

I didn’t feel like a princess when I first entered blogosphere this morning, because I still had my robe and pajamas on… enjoying one last day of Christmas break. However, after reading this, I must go put on my royal attire for the day. I will have to put this book on my reading list. I can’t wait. Love, your big-haired princess sister.

Jennifer,
I always love finding out about a good book… thanks for sharing this one with us! I think it is so special that you are reading through this with your own daughter. Having a daughter of my own, I so much want her to see me living like His princess. I also want the truth to be deeply instilled in her that she is priceless, beautiful, and to know ALL the privileges she has being His. Thank you for the reminder and I hope that you have a wonderful day!
