It’s now officially “summer” to me. The kids have been out of school for a few days, it’s super hot outside, I have the beginnings of a slight tan, and VBS is just around the corner! One of my favorite things to serve in the summer is this iced tea. It’s kind of my “signature” tea that I make and take everywhere iced tea is needed. My husband actually brought this recipe home to me years ago from a business retreat at a country inn, and it’s been an addiction of mine ever since! I try to keep the ingredients on hand at all times… just in case an occasion to need a special iced tea pops up unexpectedly… or in case I’m wantin’ something sugary sweet and lemony fresh and delightfully Southern to sip on, y’all. 😉
If you’re a fan of sweet tea, then Southern or not, I think you’ll really enjoy this.
Happy beginning of Summer!
Lemonade Almond Tea
Makes 1 Gallon
To 2 quarts brewed and cooled iced tea,
add
2 cup sugar (or a little less, if you must)
1 12 oz can lemonade concentrate thawed
4 tsp almond extract
6 cups water
Mix and serve chilled.
We love this. I’ve tried it with sugar free lemonade and Splenda…It works somewhat, but it’s just not as good.
