Hi everybody. It’s been a while. 😉 I’ll explain about that later… but today… today it’s starting to look and feel like FALL!! (At least in my little neck of the woods Delta.) So since it’s Throwback Thursday, I couldn’t resist pulling out a post from last year, which pulled together my most favorite things often shared on SmellingCoffee.com during the fall seasons. Ahhh… Fall…. Do you love it???
It’s truly my favorite time of year – Fall right now and Christmas just around the corner. Over the blogging years, I’ve shared my favorite things, recipes, and ideas for making the most of the seasons ahead. So today, I thought I’d do a round up of the best of these posts and link them in one place.
So, it’s with a very happy heart that I say, “Happy Fall, ‘Yall!”
1. This is one of the first things we do/make to welcome Fall:
2. This is one of the most popular posts on my blog. Thanks to Pinterest, it’s been visited thousands of times. Wouldn’t it be something if the Word of God went out with every piece of candy given this Halloween? Let’s commit to LIGHT up Halloween this year! (Click the pic.)
3. Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins. I’ve noticed several bloggers sharing their variations of this recipe, so if you don’t have your own version, maybe you’ll like this one. Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins equal Fall to me. Mouthwatering warm and gooey, they make houses smell like home. A wonderful addition to the recipe box, for sure.
PS: I made up a triple batch and kept the batter in the refrigerator. It kept well, and I used it for over a week.
4. Wondering how to balance the jack-o-lantern with Jesus? Read this wonderful “classic” book by Liz Curtis Higgs. The Pumpkin Patch Parable. A beautiful lesson on how Jesus transforms our lives just like we would transform a pumpkin.
If you don’t have this book yet, you can get it here.
5. This next “best” is one of my favorite things online… It’s my Pinterest Board for Fall. I wouldn’t let myself even look at it until I finished some pressing things on my to-do list. But yesterday I started browsing through my collections of lovely Fall ideas and it makes me so happy! Even though I haven’t done any of them yet (haha) just the inspiration and beautiful pictures alone make me want to hurry up and finish the rest of my pressing tasks so that I can get busy on my fall decorating and baking!
To me, this board is like opening a favorite drawer, full of clippings and pictures of dreams and ideas for the home, family, and future. May sound silly to you, but I’m grinning from ear to ear! {It’s nothing so original… it’s just my collection of all things fall that make my heart sing. 309 pins and growing. ;-)} So if you still need to be put into the mood for Fall, I invite you to my Fall Favorites Pinterest Board by clicking the pic. 🙂
6. It’s getting time to begin preparing for the Month of Thanks and the Attitude Gratitude Challenges that will be encouraged during the month of November. Though we should keep an attitude of gratitude all year long, it’s nice to have a concentrated reminder for everyone in the home to focus on the Lord and His goodness to us, even if things aren’t going as expected in our lives. There is always something for which we can be grateful. Always. Sometimes it may have nothing to do with us and everything to do with Who God IS and what HE has done FOR us. But there is ALWAYS something for which we can thank God!
So click the pic and prepare for this year’s Attitude Gratitude Challenge.
