In just a few moments, my mom and I will head to Tupelo, MS to meet up with my sister (from Birmingham) and my sister-in-law (from Tupelo) and thousands of other women for this weekend’s Extraordinary Women Conference. Among the host of incredible speakers will be Sarah Palin and Lysa TerKeurst. However, I can’t decide which part of the weekend I’m more excited about – spending time with my girl-family or the wonderful teaching we’ll receive. {I don’t know if you’ll agree, but I often am told that I look like Sarah P. Maybe I can meet her in person and we can get a picture together. When my hair was longer, I really did resemble her.}
I took a brief weekend break from the book, and will get back on it and all that goes with it – I’ve discovered that the writing is not the hard part. The technical stuff on the other end – that’s one of those things I’m completely depending upon the Lord to accomplish – because I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing! When this thing gets published in e-book form in a few weeks, we’ll ALL know that it was a full-on work of the Lord and nothing else!!!
Anyway… I’ve got to get off of the computer and get ready to go. I just wanted to hop on here for a sec and share with you something I gleaned from yesterday’s QT. I was supposed to read the 1st 7 verses in Exodus 7. But I just couldn’t stop. I ended up reading and digesting chapters 7 – 12, as if I had never read them before. These are the chapters about the plagues and how God continued to harden Pharaoh’s heart. We all know the story, but I asked God to give me a fresh word from it, and that’s just what He did. And now, I’m passing it along to you… because I know a tiny bit of some of your life stories, and this just might be a blessing and a comfort.
Do you ever wonder why God allows prideful or wicked people to continue in their stubborn and wrong ways… as if God is either completely unaware of how they are acting, or as if they are getting away with what they are doing and suffering no consequences? I have. I look around at things going on in this world, country, state, community, and personal lives of those I know and wonder WHY God lets things continue as they are – when they are obviously continuing in the wrong direction. Do you ever wonder this?
After reading Exodus 7-12, God gave me a comforting answer in Ch. 9:15-16. The Lord says, “For by now I could have put forth My hand and have struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth. But for this very purpose have I let you live, that I might show you My power, and that My name may be declared throughout all the earth.”

We know that God CAN do anything. We know that God SEES everything. Sometimes it’s just hard to remember this when it seems that He is not changing a situation that is difficult on those who love Him. We must also remember that God WILL work – In His timing – In His way – and for His glory – WHEN His power and Name will be declared in the greatest of ways.
If you are hanging in and hanging on, waiting for God to rescue you from a situation caused by a prideful or hard-hearted person… Remember this:
