Happy Monday to you all! đ
I’ve been thinking about this past week, and have concluded that this was probably the most Spiritually meaningful Easter my family and I have ever experienced. We did some special activities and devotions as a family this year that made God’s gift and Jesus’ sacrifice the focus of our week. I think the actual cost of our forgiveness “sunk in” to our children’s hearts, and I pray that none of us will think of our sin as lightly and “insignificant” as we did before.
But I don’t think it was necessarily more special or meaningful because of the activities we did or did not do. I think this was the most meaningful Easter season (at least for me) because I was daily searching for ways to make it meaningful to our children, and in the process, the Lord burned deep in my own heart the reality of the truths I wanted to share with our children. Make sense?
I keep thinking about the promise in Jeremiah 29:13: “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” The Lord helped me to do that this past week… Keeping my eyes in His Word, searching for the Lord, and finding Him in a deeper way.
Actually, since this season of Job Loss and dependence upon the Lord for every.tiny.detail… James and I both have been in a season of seeking the Lord with all our hearts, eyes, ears, etc… and God has been in a season of being found by us. It has been both a hard and a wonderful season of our lives.
One thing I can say for sure is that in the long run, it is truly a gift to “NEED” to seek the Lord. Because when we do… He promises that He will be found. We will find Him, and KNOW Him in a deeper and richer way because of it.
If you are in a season of life, or if it’s just one of those days, when you are desperate to hear from the Lord, please don’t give up. Keep seeking Him. He WILL be found. His Word says it to be true – and it is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18).
God is a “rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). Draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:8).
” ‘When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” …You can count on it.‘ ” Jeremiah 29:11-14 (Amp)
What an encouraging promise to cling to!!! I’m praying right now for those of you who are seeking the Lord… those of you who NEED to hear from Him. Don’t give up, my friends. Keep seeking and listening, and He WILL be found.
“So I say to you, Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you.” Luke 11:9 (Amp)
