Brownie Batter Dip… I can’t even tell you how delicious this is!!!!

… But I will try.  It’s like a combination bowlful of brownie batter, cookie dough, and cake mix – but without the raw eggs and the guilt of knowing you should cook the treat before you eat it. 😉  A friend made this snack for our VBS teachers this week and it was one of the best new things I’ve eaten in… well…forever.  The recipe is super simple and can be served with a variety of dippers: fruit, pretzels, animal crackers, vanilla cookies, graham crackers… just about anything that can be dipped into chocolate.

Our family has a long standing history with brownie mix.  In fact, one of the very first blog posts I ever wrote was our “recipe” for brownie batter.  We still indulge in that treat from time to time.  {Somehow, the post didn’t make it over from Blogger to WordPress.  When I find it, I’ll share it again.  for you brownie dough eaters out there, this is a way to make it sans the raw eggs.}

This recipe is from Our Every Day Dinners and is definitely going in my recipe box  – my real Longerberger one, not my virtual one.  I actually do make the recipes in my real box, as opposed to the many yummy ones I just  collect in Pinterest. 😉

Brownie Batter Dip

1 8 oz package cream cheese (softened)

1/2 cup butter (room temperature)

2 cups powdered sugar

heaping 1/4 cup cocoa powder

heaping 1/4 cup flour

3 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2-3 tablespoons milk (to desired consistency)

Mix the cream cheese and butter with an electric mixer.  Add the powdered sugar and milk slowly.  Add the cocoa, flour, brown sugar, and vanilla, and mix well.   Serve with pretzels, graham crackers, fruit, animal crackers, cookies, and anything else that deliciously combines with creamy chocolate.
