This fall, our church has five classes studying through the Bible study, Experiencing God. I can’t tell you how much I love this study! It changed my walk with the Lord and my awareness of God’s ways. I went through this study for the 1st time 19 years ago. This fall marks my 9th time to go through it, and 8th time to shepherd a group through its truths. Each time, God reveals something new to my walk with Him.
Several years ago when my husband’s job was deleted, our family of four got new books and studied through Experiencing God (our children did the teen version). We set aside a time each week to discuss day by day all God had revealed to us through His Word. God used that time in our family to keep us focused on the truth that He had/has something to do through our family – more than we could see in front of our eyes.
From time to time in the next 12 weeks, I’ll be sharing some quotes and truths learned from Experiencing God. I hope they are as encouraging to you as they are to me. If you need a boost in the Lord on this Monday, here is a blessed truth to focus on today~
From Exodus 2-4 and the life of Moses, concerning the 40 years after he killed the Egyptian and lived in exile in the desert and before he had any idea that God was going to use him to deliver God’s people:
“God had a purpose He was accomplishing in Moses’ world. Even though Moses was an exile in the desert, he was on God’s schedule, in the fullness of God’s timing, in the middle of God’s will.”
If you feel like God has forgotten you… rest assured, my friends, He has not! According to God’s Word, He is always working, even when we have a hard time understanding. As I look at my own life (and some situations I still can’t understand why God hasn’t resolved – our Nashville house, for one… still no relief there) I can take that quote about God and Moses and apply it this way:
“Even though… we are on God’s schedule, in the fullness of God’s timing, in the middle of God’s will.”
I am clinging to this truth as we continue to seek and serve the Lord right where we are. It’s the same for you as you are walking with and waiting upon and wondering about the Lord’s deliverance in your own difficulty.
“Even though … YOU are on God’s schedule, in the fullness of God’s timing, in the middle of God’s will.”
It’s a beautiful truth we must not forget. Because, God, for sure, has not forgotten us. Assuredly not.
“…for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]” Heb. 13:5b (Amp)
Much love, my SC friends~
