Look at this:
Last week I got a call from a sweet friend that I hardly run into anymore, saying she wanted to bring us something. And this is what she brought!
I’m still shaking my head in amazement over it! She said that she felt the Lord leading her to share with us from their abundance. Amazingly – and just like the Lord does it – the bags of groceries were full of our favorites – and things that we use everyday!!!
But the most amazing part of this story is that my friend’s husband has been out of a job for months.
They have been cutting back, couponing, and living with their focus set on trusting the Lord for provisions – and they shared with us from the overflow of what He has faithfully provided for them.
Our cubbards are certainly not bare at this point. And if we had “needed” something like honey barbeque sauce, we would have purchased some (hopefully with a coupon – but surely without it breaking us at this point.) And that’s just the beauty of what the Lord has done through this friend.
We weren’t yet at a place of “need” – but our Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Will Provide) blessed us beyond our point of need. Before our point of need. And He/they even included a candle that says “With God all things are possible” and my very favorite cereal – Quaker Oat Squares – in the mix!
Once again, God is reminding us to trust Him – and that He will take care of us. Not because we are so full of faith. He will take care of us because He is so Faith Full!
Thank you, Kim and family! God has used you in a mighty way in our lives. Thank you for your obedience and faith as you shared with us while depending on God to provide for you!
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:31-33 (NLT)

God sends the best of friends to help lift us up when we are down. I just keep saying, "God provides." He's never let me down yet! Your post is such a wonderful blessing. It's amazing how to speaks confidence in His plan for my life, my husband, and my sons.

I took the kids to Taco Bell (trying to be "cheap") after church on Sunday and ended up getting a free drink – every little bit helps. Then, tonight we were running behind so I told them they could get a hamburger happy meal at McD's and I got a plain hamburger and $1 drink. I swiped my debit card the machine said "processing" while she filled our order but never gave me the "approved" message. When she came back she told me to try again. Again it happened. The manager went to the back and returned to tell me the machine was down. I only had a couple dollars cash on me. She announced to the people in line that the machine was down and since she was already filling my order – ours was "FREE"! I immediately told the kids it was God's way of providing for us. I feel like I'm forever telling the kids, "No, we can't do that today…" now that Jeff's hours have been reduced, but God still wants to have some of the small pleasures. Like you, we're not completely in need of help right now, SO I took the money I would have spent on dinner tonight and took the boys to the Opry Mills mall so they could pet the sting rays. They've been wanting to do it since Spring Break and of course, I told them back then, "No, we can't do that today." Well… we did it tonight courtesy of my beloved Jehovah Jireh!! He is SO good to us!
Love you, friend!

Oh Jennifer, how awesome this is! I understand when you're going through times of uncertainty how precious a simple gesture like this can be. I know for a fact that once I'm through my current challenge, I know that I'll be so much more sensitive to others' needs. Hugs to you.

Jennifer, Thank you for that sweet post! I felt the Lord reminding me of things that needed to go in the bags; and I'm so glad He provided some of your favorites. I wanted to tell you that God has taken care of us. We had a few thousand dollars in bills from my husband's surgery. I got another one the day I left your house; and I was a little discouraged that it would require more money, because there was already an outstanding one of $1,000 plus all that we had already paid. As I was reading your post today, my husband was calling to see why the insurance company was excluding the $1,000 one. Then, I remembered that I had already paid that bill I got on Wednesday! I'm so glad the Lord reminded me! One down. The insurance company wasn't going to pay the other one because it was a new procedure; and they referred us back to the doctor. However, the surgeon we used said they use this procedure to protect against damage to the vocal chords and because it is safer–a great thing since my husband loves to sing and has a great tenor voice. Without hesitating the lady at the doctor's office said I'm just going to write that off for you–consider it forgiven!!! She didn't know us or our situation, but God did. Can you believe how He worked that out! And we are through with those surgery bills now. We are so thankful for His provision for us! As our pastor reminded us Sun., it's about faith and obedience. Blessings to you!
P.S. Still working on my profile setup!

You are a gracious receiver too. Sometimes that's harder than being a giver.

I do wish that I was in the position to help you out; but the best I can do is pray. I will certainly be doing that for you family because you have helped me.

Jen, Do you remember as you were growing up all the many times friends blessed our family the very same way that your friend has blessed your family? Like you all, it was never that we were in need of food or clothes or that we couldn't have bouhgt what we needed. God just told someone to bless us with their over abundance. We never fail to recognize that this was God's way of providing not just our needs but He was allowing us to have some of the things that brought us pleasure. I know that God will continue to show you His faithfulness.
Love you, Mom
