Y’all, I’m so excited that I can hardly stand it! After waiting {and praying, and hoping, and wishing, and crying, and pleading, and trusting, and taking it back, then learning to trust & wait some more} for almost FOUR years, The Lord has sold our Nashville house!!! We signed the papers at 9 pm last night & James is faxing them back this morning as I type this!
Many of you have been on this journey with us & I was bursting to tell you yesterday. But once we signed the purchase agreement last night, it became official, and we will close next week! {Insert biggest sigh of relief ever!}
As God always does things, His way & timing was right – and better for us in the long run than if the house had sold anytime earlier. The market has gone up a bit, the buyer has cash in hand, and the renters get to stay in the home they have loved.
James specifically prayed that it wouldn’t even have to be listed again- that God (and our dear Realtor, who has faithfully waited & worked with us) would sell it without ever putting a sign in the yard. I have prayed that God would do it in a way that would make all of us celebrate & glorify Him… And He did all of the above, plus more… An Ephesians 3:20 moment for sure!
It’s been a long journey. Lots of lessons learned along the way. Some learned over & over again. Some put into practice more often than I would prefer. But as we step across that long-awaited finish line to the other side of this four-year-wait, we can look back and see that God’s hand was always at work, and we were not left with one unmet need.
God gave us each day, our daily bread and our cups… they “runneth over”
It seems surreal to finally be closing this chapter of our lives. Four years and one month ago, the Lord turned our world upside down, causing us to live out our faith in a way that shocked us, hurt our feelings, left us with more questions than answers, and called us to blindly trust Him in ways that didn’t make human sense to anyone. Next week as we close on our Nashville home, that road will come to an end. I am both ecstatically jumping for joy and quietly pondering these things in my heart. I know that it was not a wasted wait. God never does that. So today, I will be asking Him to sum up this journey for me, seeking to label the Solid Rock truths upon which we will stand as we move ahead, and the Priceless Jewels collected and treasured along the way.
Thank you SO very much for praying with us, encouraging us, and for us and helping us as so many of you have. My heart is bursting with gratitude as my mind scrolls a list of your names and how God has used you to bless us along the way. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I promised on Monday to stop my blog break if we had any good news, and it’s been so fun to do this more quickly than ever dreamed! Thanks for letting me celebrate with you today. As Ephesians 3:20 (in The Voice) says,
“Now to the God who can do so many awe-inspiring things, immeasurable things,things greater than we ever could ask or imagine through the power at work in us”
To God be the glory,

Praising God with you!! How exciting to know I, who’ve never met you nor likely will, was able to pray for/ with you AND to know the answer. God’s kind (and fun) ways are so much bigger than us!
