"Smelling Coffee" 2.0 – Easier on the eyes (I hope)

Hi friends~  I’m so grateful for you.  You are so kind to keep coming back to SmellingCoffee and I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know!  My heartfelt desire is that the Lord will use this blog as a blessing to each reader.  He’s certainly blessed me through you, your comments, e-mails, and your blogs.

One thing about my blog that has bugged me for two solid years is the red background.  I mean, I like it, and I don’t like it.  I love the color, but after a while, reading the white writing on the dark red background is hard on the eyes.  {You can admit it … you won’t hurt my feelings… I’m sure you’ve thought so too? ;-)}  I’ve prayed and searched for two years for a background similar to what I had, except with a white inside.  But after all that searching, nothing ever jumped out at me and said “this is SmellingCoffee!” 

One of these days, I’d love a “professional” blog make over… I have visions of a cute cartoon lady drinking coffee and reading her Bible and writing in a journal… one of these days.  But for now, just last night I played around with the Blogger Template Designer and came up with this background.  My eyes are actually saying “Ahhh”.  Are yours? 

It was relatively easy. I’ll probably keep tweaking in the future, but the thing I can’t figure out how to do is to make the header picture full sized.  I remember resizing it for my other blog design, but for the life of me, I can’t remember what I did.  If any of you know how, and would be willing to lend a hand to my DIY blog design and tell me how to do this, I’d surely appreciate it.

I pray each one of you are walking in and resting in the Strength of the Lord this week.   No matter what it is we have to do (the hard things – and even the little things like blog designs and grocery shopping) God will help us if we will ask Him – and if we’ll give the result glory to Him.   Matthew 6:33-34 in the Message says it this way:

“Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.

Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”
