(of which I never took a picture. You’ll just have to trust me on this one!)
I’m not usually one to go for the “low calorie” or “low fat” food choices. But this year James and I are trying to get in better shape so I’m learning to substitute a few rich foods for lighter and/or healthier options. One of my favorite spring foods is that rich cream cheese and marshmallow cream mixed fruit dip. I could literally eat it by itself, with or without a spoon! Well… the other day, I learned how to make a lighter version and it was great. Then I added something to it, and it even better. I took it to serve at a wedding shower, and everyone agreed that it was delicious. Then… I switched my added something and it was beyond yummy! So of course, I had to pass it along to you!
Original Light Fruit Dip – delicious by itself as a creamy light treat, and especially tasty on Granny Smith apples and strawberries.
1 8oz tub of Fat Free whipped topping
2 sleeves of sugar free lemonade singles – the kind that you mix in a water bottle
Mix together and refrigerate.
Light Fruit Dip with extra creaminess – even better than above.
1 8oz tub of Fat Free whipped topping
2 sleeves of sugar free lemonade singles – the kind that you mix in a water bottle
1 small container of light and low fat vanilla yogurt (we like the Kroger brand)
Mix together and refrigerate.
The best ever Light Fruit Dip with extra creaminess
- 1 8oz tub of Fat Free whipped topping
- 2 sleeves of sugar free lemonade singles – the kind that you mix in a water bottle
- 1 small container of light and low fat LEMON yogurt (we like the Kroger brand)
Mix together and refrigerate. Or keep it in the freezer and thaw a bit as needed. It’s my new favorite treat. If you can enjoy the “non-so-clean-eating-fat-and-sugar-substitutes”… I bet you’ll love it too. 🙂
{And… If you are doing the Weight Watcher’s Simply Filling plan… A snack of this dip and fruit makes a 0 point plate! Or if you are counting points, the dip is a whopping 2 points per the whole carton!}
I can’t wait to make and enjoy more of this delicious treat. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, friends.
