Introducing our New Praying the Promises Prayer Challenge!
Y’all… I’m 3 days behind in sharing this with you, but we can catch up easily. The challenge officially started on Monday, but a lot is going on in my home (kids… college… you know…) and I’m just now getting it together enough to post. Grace, please? 😉
Anyway, I was blessed with the privilege of getting to be an author in this 40 day prayer challenge, and it’s so exciting!!! It’s hosted by ArabahJoy.com, but the first week of this challenge was written by me. Read on for details. It’s FREE, and you can sign up at the end of this post. (And it matters not whether your children are 5 or 50! – these Scripture promises still ring true!)
It’s time to announce our BRAND NEW Fall 2016 Praying the Promises Challenge!
The What:
Our 40-day prayer challenges are rooted in II Corinthians 1:20 which says, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.”
We believe this verse teaches we should:
- consciously know and understand the promises of God
- regularly bathe our minds in the promises of God
- deliberately give verbal affirmation to the promises of God.
The How:
The idea is simple: We challenge ourselves to pray ONE scripture promise a day for 40 days. During the challenge, we provide you with 40 scripture promises to pray and instructions for how to pray them… then we watch God’s word transforms our lives!
The Why:
II Peter 1:4 says, “By which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them (the promises!) you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.”
We believe Scripture teaches knowing and giving verbal affirmation to the promises of God is an important spiritual discipline that results in Christ-likeness in our lives.
We also believe it aids in personal spiritual growth, enhances our spiritual senses and discernment, decreases worry and anxiety, and trains us to see all of life through the lens of God’s character. This simple spiritual discipline guards against spiritual anemia.

We invite you to join our Fall 2016 Challenge as this time, we pray God’s word specifically for our children! The LIVE community challenge begins August 8th and all you need to do is sign up below. We’ll deliver everything you need straight to your inbox!
