My heart has been on the heavy side lately. The truth is that sometimes obedience is costly. But always – no matter the cost, doing what God tells you to do is worth it. I find myself having a case of “spiritual schizophrenia” these days – choosing one minute to trust, and with the very next breath, I falter.
Thankfully, I’m being surrounded by tons of Scriptures like this one: “For I the Lord your God hold your right hand; I am the lord who says to you, fear not; I will help you.” (Is. 43:13) And this one: “The Lord is my Strength and my impenetrable Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices and with my song will I praise Him.” (Ps. 28:7). One of my favorites is: “And the Lord said, My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.” (Ex. 33:14). I carry these verses everywhere with me.
Oh how I want to “buck up” and walk in full faith in the God of these truths – without flinching. With God’s help, and our choosing to keep our eyes and ears focused on God and His Word – and not on what others around us are doing or saying, every single one of us can walk ahead without flinching. Faith is a choice. A minute by minute choice. Today, I plan to choose faith! How about you?
So… with being a little on the heavy hearted side, when I saw this YouTube video on Susan Skitt’s blog “Adventurous Living” (which is a great blog, btw), I literally laughed out loud! I’ve watched it several times and it still makes me laugh! It’s not a fictitious comedy routine – it’s “real life”. …And, what makes it so funny to me is not the trauma caused, but that I can tragically see myself doing every bit of this. In fact, I have done what the green car did (maybe not taking as long as she did – notice the time stamp on the left-, but I have done it often) and have also been helped/saved/rescued by a stranger on more than one parking excursion.
Wonder what I’m talking about? Watch this. (And please don’t get offended by the statement at the end. In my parking life, that statement is also true!) Then, please…. somebody tell me I’m not the only one who can relate to this craziness! 🙂

Praying The Lord’s blessings and joy upon you this day and this week!
I have gotten behind on blog reading. Today I am catching up on yours. I am so glad I am. Got to this one and I was laughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face. Hubby had to come see what I was laughing at and he was cracking up too. Thanks for the laugh. I think I needed it. Been frustrated with my car issues this week and it is still not fixed.
I must have said, “Oh my goodness!” about 20 times.

That is wonderful and I have severe parking issues so I was cracking up!!!
I am going to look at it right now.

Oh my goodness! What a mess! 😀 I don’t even try to back into a parking place. I would have a wreck, for sure… and I hate it when other ppl do it, because it takes for-ev-ah and I’m stuck sitting there waiting. I always get scared when I have to pull my van into those oil change places. Like I said.. what a mess. Goodness, I can’t even park my van straight between the lines. It’s bigger than my old one, and I mess up every time. I’m sure I get plenty of eye rolls after I walk away. 😀
OH. MY!!!! That was hilarious!
Girl, if you’re up for it, I’d love for you to join my hair dare (I know you have awesome hair and remember you doing something with hair in the past.)
Thanks for the scripture you shared. Just the extra reminder I needed today, and maybe it hasn’t quite taken me as long as the lady in the green car. Jackie
When I am feeling heavy laden, these are a few scriptures I turn to. Stay Bless and Stay Strong!!
“Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!” (Nehemiah 8:10)
“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me [by Your] generous Spirit.” (Psalm 51:12)
Weeping may endure for a night, But joy [comes] in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5)
The Lord just turned my mourning into laughter. I was really having a difficult time in the last few hours over something but then came over here and that video cracked me up completely.
I just had to stop back by and let you know that the boys both watched it and had a big laugh.

Thanks! I needed that good laugh. ( : I’m struggling with many of the same things you are. Thanks for sharing the Scriptures as well.
You are not alone!! 🙂
I think the music really helped the comedy in this one!
And for the record, I am the WORST parker ever! (Well, after watching that, I may not the THE worst, but close.)
🙂
That made my morning! Thanks.

I couldn’t stop laughing; I needed that one! It’s been a while since I laughed out loud like this. My mascara is running; oh no. But it’s worth it. And yes, I agree that faith is a moment by moment choice. There are times when my emotions and flesh get in the way.
