Praise:
For months, I’ve had a list in my prayer journal that I call my “Impossible List”. At the top of the page, I have these verses:
”Jesus told them this parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up)…” Luke 18:1
”For with God, nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.” Luke 1:37
”Alas, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! There is nothing too hard or too wonderful for You… The great, the mighty God; the Lord of Hosts is His name. Great are You in counsel and mighty in deeds…” Jeremiah 32:17-19
On this list I’ve written prayer requests that, unless the Lord worked a miracle, they would not be fulfilled. Among the requests on my list is “The Profitable sale of our Nashville home.” We had lowered the price so much, that without the Lord working a miracle (and someone offering us MORE than we were asking), this would be impossible. But we know that: With God, all things are possible. He just doesn’t always work the way we would plan.
That’s just what He did with our Nashville home. In our plans for our house, we never considered the possibility of what God has worked out for us. But, praise God, His ways are higher and better than ours! Through a series of events, God opened the door for us to offer our home for “lease – purchase” instead of for sale only. And then, God brought us a couple who needed to lease-purchase a home! It seems to be a perfect fit – an answer to both of our needs and prayers. They moved in this past weekend. We are SO thankful!!!!!!! In the end of the lease season, and as it is purchased, God will have done exactly what we prayed. We will have a profitable sale of our Nashville home – and we are PRAISING GOD FOR IT!!!!!
Thanks to so many of you who prayed through this process with us. It certainly was a long one. But God was in every step!!!
Paint:
We barely unpacked in our present home, then it was time to decorate for Christmas. I promised my husband that we could put the tools and paint away until Spring. Well… It’s now Spring, and on the first beautiful day, we pulled out the paint cloth, sander, and brushes… then painted some furniture I’ve been dying to turn black. Nathan helped me and did a beautiful job! Here are a few pictures… except I forgot to take a good picture of the finished projects.
Project:
In working on Abigail’s room (pictures later – a lot of what we painted is for her room), she had a black and white lamp that just needed some pizzazz. I asked God to give me a creative idea for her lamp shade. He did! He reminded me of her zebra print duck tape, and gave me the idea to wrap the shade in the duck tape. It turned out great! (She wanted me to add the hot pink duck tape to the top and bottom – which made it more “teen-age-ish” for sure!)
Like it? 🙂
Speaking of duck tape – I’m Pretty Proud of my son’s invention: Duck Tape shoes. We call them “Nates” (instead of “Toms”). He actually wears these to school. They are made with an inner sole and the rest is all duck tape!
Priscilla:
Did any of you attend the Priscilla Shirer Simulcast this weekend? Wasn’t it wonderful? God spoke to many of the ladies in our community, and I’m so thankful that we could host such an event. If you are near Cleveland, MS – put September 10th on your calendar! We’re hosting the Beth Moore Living Proof Live Simulcast, and we’d love for you to join us!!!
Part 2 to come soon.
In the mean time, do you have something “impossible” that you’re praying about? If so, why don’t you make a prayer list like the one I described above? It is such a comfort to look at those needs, knowing that NOTHING is impossible for God. I pray over that list daily with thanksgiving – because “with man, it is impossible. But not with God. With God, all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26.
Much love~

Kelly~ I'm praying for you this very moment! I know that you KNOW that when God says "no" or "not now" to something we've prayed for, He has a higher and better plan. It may take years to understand – and we may never understand… But by Faith we can trust that what His Word says is true is true!
May God strengthen and encourage you today as you seek Him for the impossible.
In Jesus' joy~

Thank you for the encouragement to look to God to do the impossible!
I don't see how, but I KNOW He can. I struggle with the discouragement of not knowing if He will, (so many disappointments and unanswered prayers) and that is where the doubt to trust Him seeps into my prayer life.
Thank you for sharing what the Lord has done for you…..it blesses my heart! You have such a sweet spirit, and I'm thankful I can read your words!
Blessings to you!
Kelly
p.s. LOVE the lamp and your son's shoes made me giggle! I think he could start a new trend. 🙂
