I’m still on my blogging break, but I just couldn’t stand it any longer!!! I just had to hop on here and say “hello”! You have been so sweet to comment on my last post, and to keep coming back – even when there’s nothing new here. 🙂
My husband’s jeep “died” last week and he’s been using my van – so between staying home without a vehicle to run around in, AND the blogging break…you wouldn’t believe how clean my house is, and how caught up the laundry is (and how little money I’ve spent lately)! It’s amazing! 🙂
The “forced rest” has been good for my soul! But I’m thinking that I’m going to be in need of some serious “shopping therapy” any day now… In fact, my hands are craving the feel of clothing on hangers as I pass through racks filled with possible outfits! Somebody get me to Khols or Goodwill SOON!!! 🙂
Seriously, I don’t mean to be so “secretive” about what God is doing in our lives right now – but I must stay quiet for a while longer. (We’re so thankful to God that our family is healthy, intact, and it’s not a marriage, job, health, or financial crisis.) God is working, and He has called us to join Him in a particular area – and that’s what we’re doing (and it’s taking some extra time and focus.)
In Genesis 24, Abraham’s servant tells Rebekah’s family an incredible truth – one that I want to be the testimony of every day of my life. In the Amplified, it says,
“The man bowed down his head and worshiped the Lord and said ‘Blessed be the Lord… As for me, going on the way of obedience and faith, the Lord led me’…” Gen. 24:26-27.
I love that. As for you and me – as we go on the way of obedience (to God’s every instruction – whether we understand all of the details or not), and faith (trusting in Who it is that we serve), He will lead us. Period! What a blessing to know, and what a challenge to live by!
That’s what I’m praying for you and for me… that we would go on the way of obedience and faith – so that the Lord will lead our every move. Then He will be glorified, and we will be at peace in Him!
Have a wonderful weekend. I’ll ttyl … With love…
Jennifer

Excellent encouragement my friend.
“What a blessing to know, and what a challenge to live by!” Those words mean more to me than you’ll know right now. We’re walking through a valley right now, but praise God, He is with us all the way. I’m Psalm 23ing it!

Thanks for checking in with your blogging friends. I’ve missed you. I can’t wait to hear what God is up to in your life. I’m also trying to get more organized. My office is a mess right now because I’m taking everything off the shelves and getting rid of things. It will be worth it though.

Hi Jen!!! I’m so sorry about the death of your car. Unexpected financial crisis is so difficult. But, as I’ve come to know you, I know you and your sweet family are seeing it through God’s eyes and looking for the blessing…. and for you that means forced time at home. How funny it is when we stay off the computer and find how completely efficient we are and how much we accomplish! 🙂 Thanks for the blog post though…. I was starting to get twitchy missing you here!!!!! Hugs and love, Kim

I love that verse! I too desire to be obedient to my Father! He showed me last monday where I am to be for the time being! someone said you must be happy about that. I kind of smiled and said “well not exactly happy, but at peace”.

Jennifer,
Out of that same passage in Genesis 24:40 from the NLT version it says ‘You will,’he told me, ‘for the Lord, in whose presence I have walked, will send his angel with you and will make your mission successful. Then verse 42, the servant prayed ‘O Lord, the God of my master, Abraham, if you are planning to make my mission a success, please guide me in a special way. Dear sister, I am praying that God will guide in each step of the way and it will be a successful mission. God is so good.
Now, off to the basketball game. Love ya.

How exciting that your doing God’s work! I can’t wait to hear what it is once un-veiled. I went to a very cool Girls Night Out hosted by Proverbs 31 Ministries and it was so good to be surrounded by God-loving, upbeat, tender hearted women. I just KNOW God has called you to do something awesome. Blessings to you..
