Happy day, friends! I just found this beautiful treasure tucked in God’s Word today & had to share it with you. I’m still blogging from the BB, so I’m making this quick. (Besides, a friend is holding me accountable today for unpacking boxes, so I better go get busy – I’ve got to call her in 1 1/2 hours & report in!) Ha ha!
I’m digging through Psalms one verse at a time on a hunt for every name or characteristic or action mentioned of God, Jesus, or The Holy Spirit. Today’s action was worded in such a sweet way, it extra-blessed me, and I felt led to share it with you. Someone reading this needs to know this today, so here it is:
“He hushes the storm to a calm and gentle whisper,
So that the waves of the sea are still.”
Psalm 107:29 (Amp)
Isn’t that beautiful and comforting? He hushes the storm to a calm and gentle whisper…
Anyone need the storm in your heart to be hushed to a calm and gentle whisper today?
The key is found in the verse that precedes this one:
“Then they cry to The Lord in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses” Psalm 107:28
Cry to the Lord. Look only to Him. Call upon His Name. Determine to put your eyes only on Him. Let Him hold you & rock you and comfort you like a mother holds, rocks, & comforts her baby. Cry to the Lord and He will hush the raging storm in your heart.
The verses following say:
“The men are glad because of the calm, and He brings them to their desired haven.
Oh that men would praise, and confess to the Lord for His goodness and lovingkindness and His wonderful works to the children of men!”
Psalm 107:30-31 (Amp)
With love for each of you who visit here, I am praying for your hearts today. I’m asking that The Lord – The Maker of Heaven and Earth – will hush the storm to a gentle whisper, and that in that whisper, you will hear Him say how much He loves you, and how “on top of it” He is!
Oh that we would praise The Lord…He hushes the storm to a calm and gentle whisper.
Shhhhh…Do you hear Him?
Much love to you~
Jennifer
PS: its not too late to jump in on the Attitude Gratitude Challenge – recording a thanks to God for at least one thing a day between now and December 31. (See post below for details.)
What an encouragement and great reminder. We do need to call on the Lord, don't we? How often we just like God's people when they were in the wilderness those 40years with Moses will complain instead of calling on the Lord and simply asking for help. When we call on the Lord we will find peace, even in the midst of the storm! Amen!
Many blessings to you today and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I didn't read this until today, but it was just what I needed to share with my son who is in the midst of a raging storm….I know he will be blessed by what you shared…I am also going to share it on FB..i will not say where I got it but I will not claim it as having come from me…but a sweet sister in Christ…Blessings on your family and your ministry.
Just stopping by to leave you a hug – and a prayer that the week ahead is not only productive but blessing-filled! Love catching up on your posts…
After being in a storm for over a year – I am finally finding a calm – a peace through God staying with me, just staying with me. I have cried out, but for now He stays and I trust him to navigate through the storm.Your words so blessed me! Like God whispering, reminding me that I finally get it!
You are a dear friend. Thank you for sharing His word with us that strengthens me over and over again…
He's a faithful GOD and singing His praises to the fullest!
Love you.
I LOVED this…It has proven to be so true for me over this last year. We've run to Him and oh how He has been there for us. How grateful I am…HUGS to you, Debbie
Oh how I needed to read this-was taking a break from cleaning.
I am having issues with a family member. Thanks for the reminder.
Oh I needed this today! It's going to be a long winter I am afraid in our real estate career. I trust and believe that God will graciously provide, however there are days that my heart is troubled, anxiety creeps in and I feel a bit out of control. I am thankful that the Lord pulls me back to Him, using vessels such as you to communicate His promises. I needed this to calm my troubled heart this morning!
Love you friend!
