….. {silence}….
I really don’t know what to think right now, but I felt the Lord lead me to hop on here and say this one thing:
Now is the time for all of us to put into practice those things we’ve been saying this past week. Those things and verses about God being on the Throne, Jesus being King, and the government being upon the shoulders of Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, God With Us.
Do we really believe this?
If so, then we must act on it. We must remember that if our “man” didn’t get voted in as president of the United States of America, or governor, or senator, or congressman, or mayor, etc… If the ones for which we voted and prayed did not get elected, we must remember that our hope does NOT lie in a man. It must lie in God and God alone.
And…
If our “man” did get elected, we must remember that our hope does NOT lie in a man. It must lie in God and God alone.
We have prayed. We have voted. Now we must continue to pray – and maybe pray like never before.
None of us knows what the future holds, but we all know WHO holds the future. It may be time for those called by Christ’s name to arise and act on those things we have been saying that we believe.
And I believe that God’s question to us now is, “Will we?”
“God appeared to Solomon that very night and said, “I accept your prayer; yes, I have chosen this place as a temple for sacrifice, a house of worship. If I ever shut off the supply of rain from the skies or order the locusts to eat the crops or send a plague on my people, and my people, my God-defined people, respond by humbling themselves, praying, seeking my presence, and turning their backs on their wicked lives, I’ll be there ready for you: I’ll listen from heaven, forgive their sins, and restore their land to health. From now on I’m alert day and night to the prayers offered at this place.” 2 Chronicles 7:12-15 The Message (God was speaking to King Solomon about the temple built and dedicated to God, but these very words can also apply to us as individuals, who are the temples of the Holy Spirit. )
I will go to sleep tonight resting in the Sovereign God, who always reigns, in whom we can put our trust. Goodnight my friends… and may the Peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be upon you and upon this nation…
I’m with ya sister.:) God was speaking to me about this very thing A L L night long on Monday night before Election Day. This is where the rubber meets the road. When we “make good” on all those words we’ve been saying. Either we spoke Truth and ALL our hope and trust is truly in Him….or we were just blowin’ smoke, ticking our own ears, trying to bluff our way through. I was feeling quite deflated last night but got up this morning with a new resolve. We just need to keep on keepin’ on, doing what He put us here to do.
Love this post. You have encouraged me today!!! Have a wonderful day.
Thank you, Gwyn! you have encouraged me too. One thing I’m realizing is that this nation as a whole no longer values the things that the majority of Christians value… So now our work as Light Bearers is really cut out for us. We’re kind of going back to the early church days after Jesus’ resurrection… May God’s Power and Glory be upon and within us all~
Well said. That 2 Chronicles verse has been on my mind ever since I heard. Plan to put it on my bloc in the morning. Thank you for this post.
It seems that is what we are to now do – and do it with consistency. Not just around election time – but every single day. Blessings to you, Cathy~
So much wisdom here my friend. I totally agree. We must never stop praying. We must continue to believe that God is who He says He is. Bless you!
Thank you, Barbie ~ may the Lord bless you, too!
