I’m asking, because I’ll be there and am hoping to meet up with one or one hundred of you. (grin) I know that somewhere out there in this huge blog-world there are some other sisters who will be making their way to New Orleans for the Southern Baptist Convention, and I don’t want to pass up an opportunity to meet you face to face.
On Monday, I’ll be going to the Pastor’s Wives Conference (8:30-11:45 am in Hall B-1). The speakers are Pam Tebow and Jeannie Elliff. This is always such a special time of filling and renewal for the ladies who are attending the Pastor’s Conference on Sunday and Monday before the convention begins on Tuesday. It’s free, and any woman can attend.
On Tuesday, I’m excited to be attending the Minister’s Wives Luncheon (12:00 pm in Hall B). Mary Kassian will be the speaker. Yay! I’ve done all of her Bible studies, and I know she’ll have a special word from the Lord for us. You don’t have to be a minister’s wife to attend this event, but you do have to register and purchase a $15 ticket. Always lots of fellowship and goodies accompany this event. 🙂
SO… will you be there? If so, please reply and let me know. Maybe we could all gather in a corner of the room after the Tuesday luncheon is over? Or at least we could be on the look-out for each other as we navigate the exhibit hall and the worship gatherings.
The SBC has been a special part of our ministry life for the past 18 years and I’m looking forward to going back to New Orleans with my husband and thousands of brothers and sisters in Jesus. If you will be there, I hope that we get to meet. If not, please pray for these meetings. Important things happen during the SBC and decisions are made that affect not only Southern Baptists, but the entire body of Christ. Your prayers for this event and for those attending certainly would not be wasted.
PS: For those of you who are attending, there’s an SBC App for your phone – to plan your events, keep posted on changes, locations, times, etc, and to keep up with your new and old friends.
Hope you are in the midst of a super week. Let’s keep praying for the Vacation Bible Schools that are taking place around the country this month and next. (A prayer guide can be found here.) At our VBS last week, we ended up with around 8 children praying to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and many more confirmations of salvation, or hearts stirred toward salvation. It was a special week, and God answered every prayer. We give Him the glory for it all!
Here’s a Word for someone today: God is FAITH-FULL and will not let you go, assuredly not! “…Since God assured us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” we can boldly quote, ‘God is there, ready to help; I’m fearless no matter what. Who or what can get to me?’ ” Heb. 13:5 (MSG)
Much love to each of you~
