My sweet daughter and I went to a Vicki Courtney You and Your Girl Event this past weekend. It was an incredible event and the Lord worked in many ways – I can’t wait to post all about it! 🙂 I’ll do that next, but today, I wanted to share a special Word the Lord gave me as the event opened.
In light of my previous two posts, I must admit that over the past week, I’ve been a little “down” about how our world is, where our nation is headed, and what is to become of our children’s future. It seems that the more aware I am, the more overwhelmed I become. There’s a balance I just haven’t found yet.
We’ve been using our voices and stepping out for what we believe. But honestly, I’ve been feeling like our voices sound like little mouse squeaks compared to the loud roar of the “world”. And without intending to, I started listening to the enemy’s lies telling me that we can speak out all we want, but it won’t really make a difference.
So, Saturday morning as the conference began, Kelly Minter was leading us in worship, and we were singing “Savior, He Can Move the Mountains.” I love that song and was singing along, but I was really thinking about what a beautiful voice Kelly has.
All of a sudden, it was as if the Lord Jesus tapped me on the shoulder and said to me, “Are you paying attention to what you are singing? Really meaning the words you’re saying about Me?” I looked up at the screen to these words:
The kindness of a Saviour;
The Hope of nations.
Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.
I was stunned and completely convicted! He was so right! (Of course He was!) I realized that we have taken these “stands” God has called us to take, and we have done them willingly and obediently because we love Him. But I was standing in “duty” ~ not in faith.
I’ve been like the person in James 1:6 “Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.” I’ve been blown “hither and thither” and tossed by the wind! And I completely disregarded the truth that My Savior, He CAN move mountains! My God is Mighty to Save!!! He CAN save us, this nation, and this world!
When I realized this truth, and sorrowfully confessed my doubt, I felt a huge weight lifted from my heart. It was amazing! 1 John 4:4-6 has a whole new meaning to me (that’s why I posted it as Sunday’s Scripture). No matter what happens in the future, I don’t ever want to doubt again that My God CAN move the mountains!
If you’ve got 7 minutes to listen to this beautiful worship song, please do. If you don’t, the words are posted below the video. Maybe I’m the only one, but I’m guessing that someone else needs to be reminded today that our God CAN.
Yes…Our God CAN! If you’re trusting and praising God that He CAN _____ today, please leave a comment, and I’ll pray in faith with you! I’ll even start the comment section myself. See you over there. 🙂
Everyone needs compassion,
Love that’s never failing;
Let mercy fall on me.
Everyone needs forgiveness,
The kindness of a Saviour;
The Hope of nations.
Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.
So take me as You find me,
All my fears and failures,
Fill my life again.
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in,
Now I surrender.
My Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.
Shine your light and let the whole world see,
We’re singing for the glory of the risen King…Jesus (x2)
My Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My God is Mighty to save,
He is Mighty to save.
Forever, Author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.
My Saviour, you can move the mountains,
You are mighty to save,
You are mighty to save.
Forever, Author of Salvation,
You rose and conquered the grave,
Yes you conquered the grave
