….. {silence}….
I really don’t know what to think right now, but I felt the Lord lead me to hop on here and say this one thing:
Now is the time for all of us to put into practice those things we’ve been saying this past week. Those things and verses about God being on the Throne, Jesus being King, and the government being upon the shoulders of Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, God With Us.
Do we really believe this?
If so, then we must act on it. We must remember that if our “man” didn’t get voted in as president of the United States of America, or governor, or senator, or congressman, or mayor, etc… If the ones for which we voted and prayed did not get elected, we must remember that our hope does NOT lie in a man. It must lie in God and God alone.
And…
If our “man” did get elected, we must remember that our hope does NOT lie in a man. It must lie in God and God alone.
We have prayed. We have voted. Now we must continue to pray – and maybe pray like never before.
None of us knows what the future holds, but we all know WHO holds the future. It may be time for those called by Christ’s name to arise and act on those things we have been saying that we believe.
And I believe that God’s question to us now is, “Will we?”
“God appeared to Solomon that very night and said, “I accept your prayer; yes, I have chosen this place as a temple for sacrifice, a house of worship. If I ever shut off the supply of rain from the skies or order the locusts to eat the crops or send a plague on my people, and my people, my God-defined people, respond by humbling themselves, praying, seeking my presence, and turning their backs on their wicked lives, I’ll be there ready for you: I’ll listen from heaven, forgive their sins, and restore their land to health. From now on I’m alert day and night to the prayers offered at this place.” 2 Chronicles 7:12-15 The Message (God was speaking to King Solomon about the temple built and dedicated to God, but these very words can also apply to us as individuals, who are the temples of the Holy Spirit. )
I will go to sleep tonight resting in the Sovereign God, who always reigns, in whom we can put our trust. Goodnight my friends… and may the Peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be upon you and upon this nation…
