Several months ago, I made {um…tried to make} a switch from things like ice cream to yogurt, sour cream to greek yogurt, and heavy snacks to lighter ones. I’ve been only mildly successful, but a little bit is more than nothing… right? 😉 Anyway, one of the most versatile foods in finding substitutions for something sweet, especially at nighttime, is lite vanilla yogurt. As I was enjoying my “coffee yogurt” tonight, I realized that I have probably found at least ten different {new to me} ways to use vanilla yogurt, so I hopped on my computer and started listing them all. Then I realized that they could be summarized in about three or four recipes with variations and obvious add ins. So instead of all 10ish, I offer my favorite 4 – which, by the way, are “free” foods on the Weight Watcher’s Simply Filling plan. 🙂
1. Coffee Yogurt Drink
- 1 carton of lite vanilla yogurt
- ¼ cup (or less) of cold coffee (flavored or regular, decaf or regular)
- 1 packet of stevia sweetener
- Mix together and sip through a wide straw
2. Fruit Dip
(I’ve shared this before)
3. Chocolate/Cinnamon Yogurt
- 1 carton lite vanilla yogurt
- 1 TBS cocoa powder
- 1 packet of stevia sweetener
- Dash of cinnamon
- Mix and enjoy
4. Creamy Orange Crush
- 1 carton lite vanilla yogurt
- 1 can of Orange diet soda (I’m loving the Orange Crush 10)
- Mix together and add ice if desired. Enjoy through a large straw.
Just thought I would share. Hope you are off to a wonderful day. 🙂
