From the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF – formerly Alliance Defense Fund) website yesterday:
Supreme Court Upheld Freedom to Pray!
Public meetings CAN open in prayer!
Today, the U.S. Supreme Court reaffirmed this American tradition that has continued for hundreds of years and takes place daily at every level of government does not violate the Constitution.
Thanks to your support, Alliance Defending Freedom defended the small town of Greece’s practice of permitting volunteer citizens to deliver an invocation to open town meetings after two onlookers filed suit complaining about the Christian prayers.
The prayers of many, many Americans have been answered with today’s victory.
Armed with the clarification provided by the Supreme Court, we are starting our own campaign to let elected officials know that “We the People Pray.” The public officials in your state should know that citizens like you support prayer.
Join the movement by signing the prayer petition. The collected names may be provided to the elected officials in your state.
How encouraging! Let’s praise the Lord, and continue to pray for this high court to uphold the religious freedom of followers of Christ!
