In my life experience, I can testify that the ONLY way we/I can live victoriously {aside from staying in bed all day – ha ha} is to do what Paul teaches in Ephesians 5:19-20 (I especially like how The Message says it):

This is my game plan for the day and week (as The Lord and I prepare the message, myself, and my family, for me to leave on Thursday to head to KY to speak at a weekend retreat):
*Be continually being filled by the Spirit of God – through soaking in His Word and through praising Him.
*Look for any excuse for a song to God the Father in the name of Jesus…
*Turn up the praise music!
*Instead of complaining, choose to praise Him…
*Make a conscious effort today to drink in huge draughts of Jesus. Today, and every day this week.
How about you? What’s your game plan for victory through Jesus this week?
Whatever it is, may Jesus be your center as you cling to Him and as He fills you with praise! No matter what – let’s look for an excuse to praise Him!
Much love to each of you and happy new week…
I love all of your comments! It is energizing to read testimonies of the blessings of blessing God! Much love to you all~

Great post! When I'm doing things around the house or yard, the Christian radio station (over the Internet) is always on and I find myself singing loudly with it. When I'm singing praises to Him, my focus is where it should be, and I am, in turn, filled with the spirit.
BTW, I now subscribe to your blog via feedburner. It's a breath of fresh air in my e-mail box! Thanks for your encouraging words.

Happy belated Mothers Day. Ahh yes, I always think I could be the "perfect" christian — if I just didn't have to go into work and deal with some of my coworkers. Well whether wishing to stay in bed or avoid work, that isn't going to happen huh? LOL. Thank God we have the fountain of His Word. That's how I like to picture it; a gushing, cool, refreshing fountain.
My game plan hasn't been working for me too well. For the most part, I haven't had one! Just today, I made a decision to "sing" my way to worship while I walked. In recent days, I've left the IPOD at home when walking outdoors, but today I took it along. It took me awhile to get used to hearing it again, but as I went along, I sang the words to the songs even though my feelings lagged behind. Before long, I was worshiping in fullness.
It's a good thing to practice our faith in all seasons. God is at work in us, even when we're unaware.
What part of KY did you visit? I'm from the Lexington area.

Make the choice to praise Him! If I don't get to spend time with Him first thing in the morning, my day somehow doesn't go right. I need my morning manna. Then I have lots of overflow for others.
Oh, how I've missed visiting you Jennifer. Happy Mother's Day to you.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
My game plan: Finish my prep for this weekend's Fruit of the Spirit breakfast.
Let's pray for one another.
Amen, sister! : ) Being tuned in to God and having a heart that's leaning toward Him can go miles in the right direction, especially in the middle of a day that isn't.
